About

Hello, world 🙂

I am Zhuoer (Audrey) Liu, an international student currently pursuing a master degree from the Museum Studies Program in the George Washington University. I am a museum nut and “officially concentrate” on Exhibition Design with especially interested in interactive design and digital design for the museum and exhibition.

This blog initially works for the Museum & Social Media class task, but also will become a personal viewed platform for discussing museums, exhibits, arts, design, as well as museum digital and technology. Self-made animations will be uploaded here randomly to show some simple knowledge about museums or discuss some hot topics.

Since moved in D.C. on December 29, 2014, I’ve been enjoying my everyday here – I should say D.C. is a dreaming place for museum studies’ student because there are so many museums and so many opportunities! I worked in the Arts Club of Washington titled as the Exhibition Design and Gallery Management Internship for three months and planned the Centennial Exhibition in January, 2016, with the Gallery Curator – Pat Moore. I also assisted with the monthly exhibitions’ installation, receptions, and promoting events through social media and its website. After that, I interned at the GW Museum and Textile Museum in the Curatorial Department where I actually worked with two curators – Sumru B. Brody and Lee Talbot, and the Exhibition Coordinator Monika Hischbichler for multiple exhibits and events planning. This summer, luckily, I got the chance to intern at the Hirshhorn and do researches and tours about Hirshhorn’s exhibitions and sculptures, and participate to the social media projects as well.

With those physical working experience and inspirations from my supervisors, professors, and friends, I found out my specific interest is museum digitalization and audience interactive planning. I would visit more museums and do more researches about how technology and digitalization affect museum and how would museums use these new technologies to improve audience visiting experience.

This is not a blog to post MY IDEAS only. This is a platform to COMMUNICATE with friends who are also interested in museums, exhibitions, and technologies. One of the reason of why am I taking the Museum & Social Media class is because I want to learn how museums and exhibits could take advantage of nowadays technology to interact with audience through shows and social media. Also personally I would like to learn how to reach as more as people who have the same interest with me.

SO WELCOME TO MY BLOG AND WELCOME TO COMMENT!!!
